Original Art

About image

Art is my way of describing something that cannot be described in words. It is not about image itself. It is about the thoughts and feelings evoked by the natural world and events within it.
Art is my attempt to make sensory connections between myself and the viewer,
between viewers themselves and across boundaries of time, language and nationality.
Painting for me is about our intrinsic human links to each other,
our immanent links to all nature, our recognition of the most precious things in life.
I paint to express what I cannot say in words.

Born in 1951, Rosie Cantrell is still alive and occasionally kicking, living in the Northern Snowdonia mountains.
Retired from useful work, Rosie has completed a Diploma in Fine Art at Bangor University and is now fulfilling a life-long interest in drawing, painting, story-telling and poetry.
